2025 beckons. What have I achieved this year and what will I do next?

Hi, everyone and happy Boxing Day. As is customary for this time of the year, I’m looking back and forward.

First of all, what did I do this year?

I published two novels. Where’s Lizzie? and The Adventures of Kalyn Deere, Bounty Hunter. This brings my total published works to twenty-nine.

I wrote three other novels, two of which appeared in weekly instalments on Medium. The third was my NaNoWriMo effort, which is currently being edited.

I also started preparing two new episodic series for 2025.

I wrote a lot for Medium and through that, discovered some new characters and scenarios which I hope to develop further.

So, what’s on the agenda for 2025?

My first job is to complete and publish the NaNoWriMo novel. The sixth in an ongoing series, it’s had a first edit and is now out for my beta readers’ comments.

On the dusty plains of Mars and in the Caves of Tharsis, Andorra Pett is on a mission.

She has to return to where Maisie met her end, there’s unfinished business to attend to. But things have changed on Mars, this isn’t going to be the easy job that she’d hoped it would be.

If that wasn’t enough, her partner, Derek’s, daughter, the one who tried to kill her, is due to be released from prison. She’s on Mars, too.

Which means Derek will have a reunion with the wife who left him. Where more secrets are sure to come out.

Meanwhile, all the people who Andorra’s upset recently are gathering, ready for what might be a final showdown.

Is this the end of the road for Andorra?

Next, I want to work on one of the Medium chapter novels.

Murder Most Foul is a steampunk adventure. Coming in at just under 30,000 words, it’s set in a land like ours might have been, had another road been taken in our past. The action takes place in my Norlandia universe and several characters that readers have met before reappear. It was deliberately written in a pared-down format, to fit the need for short, punchy episodes.

The whole thing needs to be expanded and filled out with more worldbuilding and backstory, before it joins my other full-length Steampunk novels.

As well as carrying on with the novels and serials in progress, I want to extend some of the new ideas I’m getting, I think at least one of them can be more than a short story.

I’d also like to increase my presence on YouTube, I have loads of short pieces to narrate and add to my channel.

I want to try to grow my newsletter. To do this, I’m going to run a lot more Bookfunel promotions, more about that next Thursday.

I have a new reader magnet, My Sister Alex, to give away, which I’m hopeful will tempt more people to subscribe.

It’s a Sci-fi novella, which may be the first part of a series. I haven’t decided yet.

Here’s what to expect from the story.
