As I mentioned, I’m busy writing My Place or Yours.
As I won’t have time to write posts, I’ve put together this series of retrospectives from my past NaNo challenges in advance, so that I can have a clear run at the novel in November.
This week I’m featuring NaNo’s projects from 2023 and 2024.
For 2023, I wrote another psychological thriller. A story that was inspired by places that I grew up around and love, locations in Devon and Cornwall that I know so well. It features everyone’s nightmare, a missing child and a tale of a family with secrets.

A Psychological Thriller.
He was only away for an hour, he left his wife and baby daughter in their broken-down car, parked in a layby.
When he returned, his car had moved. Now it was against a tree, a mile further down the road.
His wife had hit her head and lost her memory.
Worse than that, his one-year-old daughter was missing from the back seat.
How long would it take to get her back?
Here’s a review.

In 2024, I returned to an old favourite. People had been asking me for another Andorra Pett novel for some time. I had an idea, based on some loose ends from her adventure on Mars in book two, so I thought it would be good to tie everything up. Andorra Pett meets Her Match was the result.

On the dusty plains of Mars and in the Caves of Tharsis, Andorra Pett is on a mission.
She has to return to where Maisie met her end, there’s unfinished business to attend to. But things have changed on Mars, this isn’t going to be the easy job that she’d hoped it would be.
If that wasn’t enough, her partner, Derek’s, daughter, the one who tried to kill her, is due to be released from prison. She’s on Mars, too.
Which means Derek will have a reunion with the wife who left him. Where more secrets are sure to come out.
Meanwhile, all the people who Andorra’s upset recently are gathering, ready for what might be a final showdown.
Is this the end of the road for Andorra?
