Nothing writerly has been happening this week, it’s time for a break. Instead, I’ve been preparing food for the festive period, here are a few glimpses of what I’ve been up to.
Sourdough Bread
Using my trusty starter and my favourite recipe, I’ve made a couple of loaves.

Rolls
I made some Beetroot rolls, great with Salmon or Goats Cheese.

and some cheese and pickle swirls, with onion in the dough

Potted Cheese.
I had some grated cheese left over from the rolls, so I blended it with butter to make a cheese spread. You simply add 100g Butter to 250g grated Cheese and some Mustard to taste. Blend it all together and store it in the fridge.

Mince Pies
A Christmas must-have. I used fruit soaked in Brandy and a crumble topping.

Cheese Straws.
Made with a sheet of pre-made Puff Pastry.

Sourdough Crackers
A good way to use all your spare sourdough starter.

Sourdough Digestives
The perfect multi-purpose biscuit.

I think that will be enough to keep us going over the next few days. It only remains to say, however you celebrate it,
Happy Holidays everyone.
