This is a recipe that has been requested, ever since I posted the finished article on Facebook. I’m just giving you the quantities, I assuming you know how to make the pastry.
Ingredients
For the pastry
8 oz Plain Flour,
4 oz softened Butter, in cubes
A pinch of salt
1 tablespoon cold water
Filling
I used Aldi mincemeat (other makes are available) and added some festive Rum liqueur
Crumble topping.
2 oz Oats
2 oz Plain Flour
2 oz Caster sugar
2 oz Butter, in small chunks.
Method.
Heat the oven to 200°C (180° Fan)
Make the pastry and roll out to 3mm thick
Cut circles as appropriate and press them into the baking tray
Fill with mincemeat
Make the crumble by simply rubbing all the ingredients together, it’s ready when you have a mixture of large and small lumps. Just scatter it over the top of the pies.
Bake for 20-25 minutes, until the crumble is crisp and the pastry edges are starting to brown.
